Out In The Field NHS - From the Frontline to the Field

As the NHS marks its 73rd birthday, we must ensure that, now and going forward, NHS workers are looked after. With all that those working both on the 'frontline' and behind the scenes have endured this year, lauding someone as a 'hero', partaking in a national ritual of 'Clap-for-Key-Workers', and simply saying thank you is not enough.

For this exact reason, Jessie Teggin and a team of supporters established Out in the Field as a way to practically and directly help NHS workers. Out in the Field run a series of day and residential programmes for NHS workers, placing their health and wellbeing first. Through connecting with nature, participants are introduced to stress regulation tools and undertake activities such as wild swimming, yoga and meditation, allowing for connection with themselves and others.

Having already successfully run a 2-day retreat programme last autumn and a one day programme in May, there is concrete evidence that a need is being met. This need is still here and growing. Thus, Out in the Field are now aiming to raise £12,500 to help support a further 100 healthcare workers over the next four months. These programmes will be based at The Quadrangle in Shoreham, Kent - a beautifully located learning and retreat centre, offering a unique space for reconnection and growth. The team are asking people to donate whatever they can - everything helps.

Overall, Out in the Field offers NHS workers the chance to find a sense of communion, connectivity, rejuvenation and rest - all of which are more vital now than every before.
